Choose the direction of your U.S. move
Moving from Canada to the USA and moving from the USA to Canada require different receiving-country preparation. Use the dedicated directional service page before gathering documents. Share both addresses, preferred dates and your furniture and carton inventory. This page covers Canada–USA enquiries; a move entirely within the United States should be discussed separately rather than assumed to use the same arrangement.
U.S. destination access and delivery
New York building appointments, Miami condo rules, Boston staircases and Los Angeles gated or hillside access are different property questions. Give the actual unloading address and photographs where access is difficult. Confirm keys, elevator reservations and an authorised receiving person. Ask how storage can be arranged if your home becomes available after collection. A city listing helps you explore a route; it does not confirm a truck appointment at every property.

Packing and customs preparation
Identify professional packing, unpacking, special furniture and storage requirements before comparing offers. Keep the inventory consistent with your document preparation and separate your personal travel from the household shipment. Consult CBP for U.S. entry or CBSA for Canadian entry. Ask how documents are reviewed and exchanged after the initial quote enquiry; keep identity documents out of the public form.
