Tell us which rooms and items need packing. Dishes, mirrors, electronics and delicate furniture have different preparation needs. Share unusual dimensions and photos; custom crating or specialist preparation is subject to assessment, not assumed included.
Decide what remains your responsibility
Separate medication, documents, valuables and personal essentials before packing begins. Identify goods excluded from transport. Agree whether the crew dismantles furniture and how hardware is labelled. If you pack some cartons yourself, ask about suitable materials and any relevant coverage conditions.
Specify unpacking at the destination
Unloading, opening cartons, placing contents and removing materials are different tasks. Tell us the level of help you want and any building disposal restrictions. Confirm these tasks in the written quote rather than assuming unpacking means the entire home will be arranged.
Choose full packing or selected-item support
Walk through each room and decide what you will prepare yourself and what you want the packing team to handle. Highlight glassware, artwork, electronics and items with manufacturer-specific preparation needs. Agree how cartons are labelled and inventoried so they connect with the unloading plan. Packing and unpacking are separate tasks: ask whether delivery includes removing contents, placing them or removing used materials. Do not assume furniture assembly or specialist installation is included unless it appears in the agreed scope.
