Household goods entering the United States
For an unaccompanied U.S.-bound household shipment, review the current CBP Form 3299 and official instructions. Our preparation page helps you gather information and identify questions before completion. Use the current official form rather than an old saved copy. Your circumstances determine which answers and supporting documents apply. A mover’s transport booking does not decide customs eligibility or admission.
Household goods entering Canada
Review CBSA guidance on moving or returning to Canada and on goods accompanying you and goods to follow. Keep the documents issued during your entry available for a later shipment where applicable. Personal-effects accounting documents include BSF186 and BSF186A. The U.S. Form 3299 is not a Canadian import form. Ask CBSA about your situation rather than applying another household’s document answers.

Inventory, building documents and written scope
Keep the numbered inventory, accepted quote, packing responsibilities, access permissions and receiving contact together. A building may request its own moving paperwork; confirm that requirement with management and the company. Label document versions and update the coordinator when addresses or goods change. Original identity documents should remain accessible to you. Discuss the document exchange process after the enquiry rather than attaching sensitive material to the initial quote request.
